Plot scaling is very frequent operation in any graphic processor and DM2000
was designed to make it as comfortable as possible. There's a lot of special
commands and features:
Scaling options for plot axis may be defined in Axis
properties dialog box (View|Properties|X,Y Axis)
Use Rescale toolbar button and Rescale X,Y commands from plot pop-up
menu to quickly set automatic plot scaling
Zoom In tool (scale toolbar) - when selected, plot viewer is in Zoom In
mode. Select desirable plot region to magnify scale range. Notice that if
mouse button released out of data area, zoom operation is cancelled. This
tool does not reset after operation so you may use it repeatedly.
Zoom Out tool (scale toolbar) - the same as above, but shrinks selected
area. Keep in mind that all plot tools are mutually exclusive: when you
select tool, all others will be turned off.
Zoom tool (View|Zoom) - combines two previous tools in one. Hold Shift key
to start select plot region. When you release mouse button, it will be
magnified (same as Zoom In). If you hold Alt key when releasing mouse,
this tool performs Zoom Out operation.
UnZoom (View|UnZoom, F12) - this command "undoes" plot scaling
operations performed with mouse. That is, any time when you change plot
scale with Zoom/Zoon In/Zoom Out tools, previous coordinates are
remembered in the special list ("coordinate stack") and may be
revoked by the UnZoom command. Note that this list can track unlimited
number of coordinate changes. If it is empty, UnZoom command is disabled.
X1,X2,Y1,Y2 commands used to shift plot coordinates left, right,
down and up. However, if Zoom In or Zoom Out tools selected, these
commands change only one axis limit: minimum or maximum. Scale increment
depends on the number of major ticks. In this mode number of major ticks may
be changed to keep tick scale constant (if Change Ticks flag in the
plot pop-up menu is checked).
Mouse wheel acts as X1,X2,Y1,Y2 commands: click axis and rotate wheel
forward or backward to invoke X1,Y1 or X2,Y2. Click data area to deactivate
Plot scaling operations are unavailable if active viewer is
not plot (active viewer displayed in the status line of the main
window). To make plot active, just click it with mouse.
